Who we are

Golf Exchange is a trading name of Jude Surgeoner, a sole trader based in Northern Ireland.

These terms apply when you ask us for a quote and sell golf clubs to us through golf-exchange.co.uk. They don't cover buying from our eBay store, where eBay's own terms and returns rules apply.

1. Who can sell to us

To trade in with us you must:

  • be 18 or over and live in the UK;
  • own the clubs outright and have the right to sell them;
  • make sure the clubs aren't stolen, on finance, or owned by anyone else, such as a club or employer.

2. Your quote

  • Each offer is personalised and based on the brand, model, specification and condition you describe, plus any photos you send.
  • Each offer is valid for 48 hours from when we send it. After that we may give you a new quote, as used club prices change.
  • You choose which club offers to accept in My Quotes. There's no obligation, and you don't send anything until you accept.

3. Sending your clubs

  • Once you accept, we email you a prepaid Parcelforce label, so postage to us is free.
  • Please post your clubs within 7 days of accepting. If they arrive later than that, we may need to re-quote.
  • Pack the clubs in a strong box with the heads protected, and keep your Parcelforce proof of postage.
  • Once Parcelforce has your parcel and you have proof of postage, we're responsible if it is lost or damaged on the way to us, unless the damage was caused by poor packing.

4. Inspection

  • We inspect every club when it arrives and check it against the description and grade on your quote.
  • If a club matches, your offer for it stays exactly as agreed.
  • If a club doesn't match, we email you a revised offer explaining why. You then have 7 days to accept or reject it, club by club.
  • If you reject a revised offer, or don't reply within 7 days, we send that club back to you at our cost.

5. Counterfeit and stolen clubs

  • We check that clubs are genuine. We don't pay for counterfeit or replica clubs; we send them back to you, and the return postage is at your cost. We'll tell you the cost before we post them.
  • If we believe clubs may be stolen, we may hold them and report them to the police, and we won't pay for or return them until the matter is resolved.

6. Payment

  • We pay by bank transfer (BACS) or PayPal within 48 hours of finishing the inspection, using the payment details you give us.
  • The clubs become ours once we've paid you for them.

7. Changing your mind

  • You can cancel at any time before we pay you. Just email us.
  • If you haven't posted your clubs yet, there's nothing more to do.
  • If your clubs are already with us and we haven't changed the offer, we'll send them back, with the return postage at your cost. We'll tell you the cost first.

8. Our responsibility for your clubs

We look after your clubs from the point described in section 3 until we pay you for them or return them. If we lose or damage a club while it's our responsibility, we'll pay you the offer you accepted for it, or our most recent offer if you hadn't accepted one. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights or our liability where the law doesn't allow it.

9. Your information

We use your details only to quote for, collect, check and pay for your clubs. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

10. Changes to these terms and the law

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you accepted your quote is the one that applies to your trade-in. These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. If you live in England, Wales or Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
